Cause for conCERN - I've been reading bits and pieces of this story about the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) off and on for a couple of years. And now that the $4 billion machine is almost complete it'll probably be getting more mention in coming months.
Will the LHC suck all of us into another dimension by creating mini black holes? Who knows? I don't but scientists say it won't and are supposed to crank the thing up later this year at Europe's CERN laboratory. Meanwhile, lawsuits bent on saving the world from a major catastrophe have begun. (Above Illustration, Ute Kraus / Right, CERN)
